ABC Count
- Ages 3-6
Main Intelligence: Logical-Mathematical
Skill: Numbers and quantities
Topic/Context: Things around the home
Learning Objectives: Learning to count; Categorising; Training analytical thought
Game Type: Card Game
Instructions: 123 Count
Quick Instructions: Simply draw a number card (1–5) from the face-down pile and draw the top card from the pile of category cards (i.e. food/drink, transport, animals, nature, objects/tools). Then look around the room for items (or pictures of that item) which belong to that category and once you have counted the amount set by the number card, say “done!” and point to your found objects around the room. If all your items correctly fall in that category and you have the right number of them, keep the category card. If incorrect, re-enter the game in the next turn, and someone else can have a go, but they can’t reuse any of your ideas. First to collect 5 cards, wins!
